Beginning at 9 a.m. today, the inside lanes of Interstate 220, eastbound and westbound, between Blanchard Road and North Market, will be closed for construction, according to Louisiana Department of Transportation. The closures are anticipated to last six weeks and are necessary for crews to work on detour crossings in the roadway median. LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) _ Lafayette Police have arrested six female N.P. Moss Middle School students after a brawl on a bus. The six juveniles face charges of disturbing the peace by fighting. Police say the bus driver was aware of ongoing tension between two sets of girls and had separated them on the bus for several days prior to Tuesday's incident. The separation worked for a few days, but the dispute turned physical on the ride home after school. Corporal Randal Leger, school resource officer, said this is the first bus-related school fight so far this year, but other students have been arrested for fights on school campuses
