Shreveport police are working reports of a carjacking in the Lakeside neighborhood. It happened about 9 a.m. on Ashton Street. A woman told police she'd given someone a ride when a male opened her car door and jumped inside of the vehicle. The woman reportedly got out of the vehicle and called police. When she returned to the car the man punched her in the face and drove off in the vehicle, according to police. A short time later, officers found the man and the vehicle in the 1600 block of Looney Street. The investigation into the carjacking continues.
