MONROE, La. (AP) _ Ouachita Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 48-year-old Monroe woman, accusing her of stealing 36,000 gallons of water by using a neighbor's water meter. Josie Tribble was charged Thursday with theft of utilities. An arrest report states the suspect's neighbor contacted deputies to report she had been charged for $189 of water she did not use. The neighbors had locked their water meter in June and returned to find the lock broken. Deputies say the suspect denied knowledge of the theft and said she did not think it was out of the ordinary she had not received a water bill in the two months since they had moved in. Tirbble was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center.
