VINTON, La. (AP) _ Two people, including a 12-year-old from Sulphur, La., were killed in a car accident on U.S. 90 near Vinton, La. State police say the driver, a 15-year-old female, crashed into a ditch Sunday while trying to overcorrect in the eastbound lane. The vehicle struck several trees before coming to rest. Troopers say 12-year-old Savannah Hicks of Sulphur and 20-year-old Matthew Brown of Orange, Texas, died at the scene. The driver and two other passengers were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries. Troopers say charges against the driver are pending. ___
