Washington, 36 of the 2300 block of Barksdale Boulevard, is wanted on charges of second-degree battery and felony in possession of a firearm, according to police. The victim told police her dad entered his residence at Zack's River Village Mobile Home Park on June 21, confronted her then struck her in the head with the weapon. The 20-year-old woman was taken to Willis Knighton Bossier for treatment, police said. Washing had returned to the residence after getting into a physical confrontation with his daughter and three others earlier that day. He is wanted on a $35,000 bond. Washington is described as a black male, 5' 7" , 200 pounds with a muscular build. Viking Drive in Bossier City will be closed to traffic from Benton Road to past the Orr Nissan dealership today from 6 p.m. through 6 a.m. Friday for construction, according to officials. Crews will be working to remove the large hump in Viking Drive and to get the roadway down to grade. Crews also will lay road surface. A project is underway to add a middle turn lane to Viking Drive from just east of Airline Drive through the west side of Benton Road, officials said. The work also will include installation of concrete storm drain culverts and sidewalks. The work is expected to be complete by early 2009.
